Usage Note

Suramericano is common in Colombia and other South American countries as an alternative to sudamericano; both forms are correct but suramericano tends to be preferred in Colombia and Venezuela, while sudamericano is more frequent in Argentina and Spain. As an adjective it agrees in gender: suramericana for feminine.
