Usage Note
Soltar is an o→ue stem-changing verb (suelto, sueltas…). It covers releasing a grip, untying, letting loose an animal, and figuratively blurting something out (soltar una palabra). The reflexive soltarse means to come loose or to become more relaxed/outgoing. Do not confuse with solucionar (to solve).
