situar
to place; to locate
verb see-TWAHR Common
Origin: from Latin situare
Also means
to position; to situate
Usage Note
Situar is a regular -ar verb but note the orthographic split: sitú-ar has a hiatus (two adjacent vowels in separate syllables), producing written accents in several conjugations: sitúo, sitúas, sitúa, sitúan. The reflexive situarse means 'to find oneself' or 'to be located': la ciudad se sitúa en la costa ('the city is located on the coast'). Situación (situation) is the most common derivative.
Examples
"El pueblo se sitúa en el valle."
Natural Translation
The village is situated in the valley.

The village itself situates in the valley
