Usage Note

Siglo is masculine. Centuries in Spanish are written in Roman numerals with the article: el siglo XXI ('the 21st century'). The idiom en siglos means 'for ages' in informal speech: no te veo en siglos ('I haven't seen you in ages'). Por los siglos de los siglos ('world without end', literally 'for centuries of centuries') is a liturgical phrase familiar from Spanish Catholic culture.
