Usage Note

Sentar is an e→ie stem-changing verb (siento, sientas…). In the reflexive sentarse it means 'to sit down', which is the most common use in conversation. A distinct idiomatic use is me sienta bien/mal ('it suits me / doesn't agree with me'), used for food, clothing, or news — a sense learners often miss.
