Usage Note
Seña covers both a hand gesture used to signal someone and a distinguishing mark or feature. The plural señas commonly means 'address' or 'whereabouts' ('dame tus señas' = give me your address). Do not confuse with señal, which stresses a formal or technical signal.
Examples
"Me hizo una seña para que me callara."
Natural Translation
