Requerir (the standard lemma; the seed requer is a truncated form) is an irregular stem-changing verb (e→ie in stressed positions): requiero, requieres, requiere. It takes a direct object for things required — el trabajo requiere paciencia — and a subjunctive in subordinate clauses: requiero que llegues a tiempo.
