Usage Note
Reaccionario is a politically charged adjective describing someone or something that opposes progressive change and seeks to return to a prior social order. It is almost always used pejoratively. As a noun it refers to such a person: un reaccionario, una reaccionaria. The related noun reaccionarismo describes the ideology itself.
