Ranura refers to a narrow cut or channel in a surface — the slot in a screw head, a coin slot, or an expansion slot on a motherboard. In computing it is the standard term for an expansion or memory slot (ranura PCI, ranura SIM). Do not confuse it with ranúnculo (buttercup), which is unrelated despite the similar start.
