Usage Note
Récord is borrowed from English and is always masculine: el récord mundial. The written accent on the e marks the stress, since the word ends in a consonant other than -n/-s and would otherwise be stressed on the last syllable. Its plural is récords (not récordes). It is used almost exclusively in sporting and statistical contexts; registro covers other senses of 'record'.
Examples
"Batió el récord mundial de velocidad."
Natural Translation
