Usage Note
Quinteto most commonly refers to a musical ensemble of five performers or the composition written for them, but it also applies to any group of five in sports or other contexts — un quinteto de baloncesto is a basketball five. The cognate quinteto is straightforward for English speakers; note the double-t in the Italian source is reduced to single in Spanish.
