Usage Note

Presencia can refer to physical attendance (su presencia en la reunión = 'his attendance at the meeting') or to a person's bearing and charisma (tiene mucha presencia = 'she has a commanding presence'). The phrase en presencia de means 'in the presence of' and appears in legal and formal contexts. It is not interchangeable with existencia ('existence').
