Usage Note

Predicción refers to a prediction or forecast, whether scientific (predicción meteorológica = weather forecast) or general (sus predicciones no se cumplieron = his predictions did not come true). The verb is predecir (irregular: predigo, predije). Don't confuse with pronóstico, which is the more common word for a weather forecast or medical prognosis.
