Usage Note

Pradera refers to a broad expanse of grassland, either natural meadow or prairie. In Latin America it is also used for parkland or grassy recreational areas in cities. It is distinct from prado (a smaller meadow or lawn) and llanura (a flat plain with no implication of grass).
