Poblador refers to someone who settles or populates a place, particularly in historical or Latin American contexts (los primeros pobladores — the first settlers). The feminine is pobladora. In contemporary Latin American Spanish it can also mean a local resident of a neighbourhood or town, with a community-organising connotation.
