Also means
to tread
Usage Note
Pisar means to place one's foot on something (pisar la hierba = 'to walk on the grass') or to accidentally tread on it (me pisó el pie = 'he stepped on my foot'). The phrase pisar el acelerador ('to step on the accelerator') is common in driving contexts. It differs from caminar or andar in that the emphasis is on the contact, not the movement.
Examples
"No pises el césped recién cortado."
Natural Translation
Don't step on the freshly cut grass.
