Usage Note

Pirineos is always used in the plural in Spanish to refer to the Pyrenean mountain range forming the natural border between Spain and France. The adjective is pirenaico. Common collocations include cruzar los Pirineos ('to cross the Pyrenees') and el Pirineo aragonés (the singular form used for a specific section).
