Perseverancia is one of the few words Spanish learners recognize immediately but may underuse; tenacidad (tenacity) and constancia (constancy) are close synonyms with slightly different nuances — constancia stresses regularity, perseverancia stresses pushing through difficulty. The verb is perseverar.
