Also means
leg (of furniture)
Usage Note
Pata is the leg or paw of an animal, and by extension the leg of a piece of furniture. It is NOT used for human legs (pierna or pata only colloquially/offensively for humans). The idiom meter la pata ('to stick one's paw in') means to put one's foot in it — to make a blunder. A cuatro patas means 'on all fours'.
Examples
"El perro se lastimó una pata."
Natural Translation
The dog hurt one of its paws.
