Usage Note
Oxidación refers to both the chemical process of losing electrons and, more commonly, the everyday rusting of metal. The verb is oxidar and the reflexive oxidarse means 'to rust' or 'to go rusty'. In biology it also covers metabolic oxidation (oxidación de grasas). The plural oxidaciones is regular.
