Usage Note

Ocasionado is the past participle of ocasionar used as an adjective. It typically appears in formal and written registers: los daños ocasionados ('the damage caused'). In everyday speech causado is more natural. Note that ocasionado does not mean 'occasional' — that is ocasional.

The damage caused was repaired immediately.
