Usage Note
Novelista is a common-gender noun: el novelista (male novelist), la novelista (female novelist) — the form does not change. It derives from novela (novel). Do not confuse with novela itself or novedoso (innovative) — they share only the Latin root novus (new).
Examples
"La novelista presentó su nueva obra en la feria."
Natural Translation
The novelist presented her new work at the fair.
