Movimiento covers physical motion (movimiento sísmico = 'seismic movement') and organised social or political movements (el movimiento obrero = 'the labour movement'). In music it refers to a movement of a composition. The phrase en movimiento ('in motion') contrasts with en reposo ('at rest'). Movimiento is also the name of the Francoist political organisation in 20th-century Spanish history, so the word carries cultural weight in certain contexts.
