momento
moment
noun moh-MEN-toh Common
Origin: From Latin momentum (movement, importance), which also gave English 'moment' and 'momentum'.
Usage Note
Momento corresponds closely to English 'moment', but several collocations are fixed: de momento (for the moment / for now), en este momento (right now), por el momento (for the time being). Unlike English, momento does not carry the physics sense (that is momento lineal or impulso).
Examples
"Es el mejor momento para actuar."
Natural Translation
It is the best moment to act.
