Usage Note

Miligramo (abbreviated mg) is the standard metric unit equal to one thousandth of a gram, used most often in pharmacology and nutrition labels. Note the stress on the third syllable — mili-GRA-mo — unlike English 'MILligram'. The plural is regular: miligramos.
