Usage Note

Mexicano (also spelled mejicano in older Spanish orthography, though the x spelling is now standard) refers to people or things from Mexico. As a noun it means 'a Mexican person'; the feminine form is mexicana. Note the x is pronounced like Spanish j ('h' sound).
