Maquillaje covers all cosmetic products applied to the face — foundation, lipstick, eye shadow, etc. The verb is maquillar and the reflexive maquillarse means 'to put on makeup.' In a theatrical context it also refers to stage makeup. Note the double ll is pronounced like a 'y': mah-kee-YAH-heh.
