libremente

freely

adverb lee-breh-MEN-teh Rare

Usage Note

Libremente is the adverb from libre (free), formed regularly with -mente. It appears in political and rights contexts — circular libremente (to move freely), expresarse libremente (to express oneself freely) — as well as in informal speech for acting without constraint. When two -mente adverbs appear together, only the last keeps the suffix: libre y voluntariamente.

Examples

"Los ciudadanos pueden moverse libremente dentro del país."

Natural Translation

Citizens can move freely within the country.
