Usage Note
Adyacente describes two things that share a border or are immediately next to each other — rooms, countries, angles. It is slightly formal; in everyday speech al lado (next to) or contiguo are more common. In geometry, ángulos adyacentes are adjacent angles. The word is invariable in gender — the same form serves both masculine and feminine nouns.
