Usage Note

Libertador is the masculine form; the feminine is libertadora. It is most famously associated with El Libertador, the title given to Simón Bolívar across South America. The word can also function as an adjective: un gesto libertador (a liberating gesture). Distinguish from libertario (libertarian), which carries a political/philosophical sense.
