Levantisco describes a person or group that is habitually restless, defiant, or prone to uprising — stronger than rebelde and carrying a sense of chronic insubordination. Historically it was associated with the peoples of the Levant region, perceived as volatile, but it now applies broadly. The feminine form is levantisca.
