Usage Note
Leído as a standalone adjective means 'well-read' — una persona muy leída ('a very well-read person'). It derives from the past participle of leer (to read) but carries a distinct adjectival sense of being widely and deeply read. Note that the past participle itself (leído) requires the written accent on the í to prevent the e and i from merging into a diphthong. In a passive construction (el libro ha sido leído) it simply means 'read,' not 'well-read.'
Examples
"Es una persona muy leída en filosofía."
Natural Translation
She is a very well-read person in philosophy.
