Usage Note
Línea covers a drawn or imaginary line, a transport route (línea de metro), a product line (línea de ropa), and even a line of text. The phrase en línea means 'online'. Línea recta is a straight line; fuera de línea means 'offline'. The written accent on the i is essential and distinguishes it from linea (which is not a Spanish word).
Examples
"Toma la línea dos hasta la plaza."
Natural Translation
Take line two to the square.
