Usage Note

Jonrón is a baseball term used throughout Latin America wherever the sport is popular, especially in Cuba, Venezuela, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. The word is an anglicism phonetically respelled; the plural is regular jonrones. In Spain, where baseball has minimal following, the term is barely used.
