Usage Note

Isleño refers to a person from an island, and is also used as an adjective (la cultura isleña, island culture). The feminine is isleña. In the Spanish-speaking world it is particularly associated with residents of the Canary Islands (las Islas Canarias) and the Balearic Islands, and is used as a demonym in several Caribbean communities as well.
