Usage Note
Intestino refers to the intestine, and is commonly qualified as intestino delgado (small intestine) or intestino grueso (large intestine/colon). As an adjective (rarely used in modern Spanish) it can mean 'internal' — guerra intestina (internal/intestine war). The plural intestinos is the normal form in everyday medical conversation.
