Interpretado is the past participle of interpretar used as an adjective. It covers both intellectual interpretation (el texto fue mal interpretado, 'the text was misinterpreted') and artistic performance (el papel fue interpretado por, 'the role was played by'). In film and theatre credits the phrase interpretado por is the standard equivalent of 'performed by' or 'starring'. The noun interpretación covers both senses identically.
