Integrista refers to a religious or political fundamentalist who insists on strict adherence to doctrine. It is a common-gender noun: el/la integrista. In Spanish history it had a specific 19th-century political meaning (Catholic integrism), but in modern usage it most often refers to Islamic fundamentalism in news contexts.
