Usage Note
Instintivo describes behaviour or reactions driven by instinct rather than reason. The feminine form is instintiva. It contrasts with racional (rational) and deliberado (deliberate). The related adverb instintivamente ('instinctively') is common in narrative prose. Do not confuse with intuitivo (intuitive), which implies a cognitive flash of insight rather than a purely biological drive.
