Usage Note

Injerencia almost always appears in political or diplomatic contexts to mean undue interference in another country's internal affairs — injerencia extranjera ('foreign interference') is a very common fixed phrase. It carries a negative connotation of overstepping. The related verb is injerirse en ('to interfere in').
