Usage Note
Inferioridad is most often encountered in the set phrase complejo de inferioridad (inferiority complex), a term introduced by Alfred Adler's psychology that entered everyday Spanish. It can also describe a factual disadvantage: en inferioridad de condiciones (at a disadvantage). The opposite is superioridad.
