Impregnado describes something thoroughly saturated or permeated with a substance — impregnado de olor (soaked in smell), impregnado de humedad (saturated with moisture). It is the past participle of impregnar used adjectivally. In figurative use, a text or atmosphere can be impregnado de tristeza (pervaded by sadness).
