Usage Note

Heterocíclico is a chemistry term describing organic compounds whose ring structure contains at least one atom other than carbon — such as nitrogen, oxygen, or sulfur. Compuesto heterocíclico is the standard collocation. It is rarely encountered outside scientific or academic texts.
