Usage Note

Guiñar means to wink one eye deliberately, usually to signal something secretly or playfully. The standard collocation is guiñar un ojo (to wink an eye). The related noun is guiño (wink). Not to be confused with parpadear (to blink both eyes). The ñ gives the 'ny' sound.
