Usage Note
Gratamente is the adverbial form of grato ('pleasing, agreeable') and is most often used in the fixed phrase gratamente sorprendido ('pleasantly surprised'). It belongs to a formal register and is more common in written Spanish than in casual speech, where con agrado or de manera agradable may be preferred. Its antonym is desagradablemente.
