Fusilamiento is the noun for execution by shooting — specifically by firing squad (pelotón de fusilamiento). It is historically associated with military executions and war crimes, most famously depicted in Goya's painting El 3 de mayo de 1808. The verb is fusilar, which colloquially also means 'to plagiarise' in Spain.
