Usage Note

Furtivo describes actions done secretly and often illicitly — una mirada furtiva ('a furtive glance') and caza furtiva ('poaching') are the two most common collocations. Caza furtiva is the fixed legal term for hunting without a permit. The adverb furtivamente ('furtively, stealthily') appears frequently in literary narration.
