Factor is a direct loanword that needs no translation in most contexts. It is used in mathematics (factor común), science, and everyday discourse (un factor determinante). Note that it is masculine (el factor) even though it ends in -or, which is typical for agent nouns derived from Latin. The plural is regular: factores.
