Also means
tightly
Usage Note
Estrechamente is the adverb from estrecho (narrow/close) and describes a close relationship, tight cooperation, or literal nearness. Están estrechamente relacionados means they are closely related. Like all -mente adverbs, it retains the written accent of the source adjective: estrecha → estrechamente. In physical contexts it can mean 'tightly' (vivían estrechamente), but the relational sense is far more frequent.
Examples
"Los dos equipos trabajan estrechamente juntos."
Natural Translation
The two teams work closely together.
