Also means
standing
Usage Note
Estatus is a borrowing from English (and ultimately Latin status) used mostly in sociological, political, and corporate registers. The plural is invariable: los estatus. The traditional Spanish equivalent estado covers many of the same senses but lacks the sociological prestige connotation that estatus carries in modern usage.
Examples
"Su estatus social mejoró con los años."
Natural Translation
Her social status improved over the years.
